How often have you started a great idea and then it goes by the wayside?
Maybe it’s your next diet plan or a way to grow your business. You just don’t get to it.
My fallen to the wayside list has been pretty static for years. Eating better, exercise, and creative activities. Of course, there have been countless business ideas, but fortunately, they evolve. Some go on my current list, and some get discarded. I don’t worry about them so much.
For myself.
But many of my clients have backburner ideas, and the burner is overflowing. Like when you put a pot of sauce on the stove and leave it to do something else and it boils over. It creates quite a mess, right? Our brains can hit that boiling point when we have too many unfulfilled ideas taking up precious space.
Does This Sound Like You?
You start a new project with the best intentions and something interrupts your flow along the way. The interruption could be anything from a client crisis to the next shiny object or something mundane like the invoices that need to go out.
You know it’s an excellent idea, and you promise yourself you will get back to it soon. But there it sits; on the backburner; again.
What if the woman in the picture at the top of this page said, “I can’t do it” in the middle of her leap?
Don’t Just Say It – Get to It!
What are you going to do?
Choose your favorite idea, task, or project — the one that will make the most significant impact on your business.
Lock it into your calendar.
Carve out the time to work on it. Book the time like you would a client appointment.
Start the work.
Lay out the tasks that need to be done and start chipping away at them.
And Like Nike says, Do It!
If you genuinely believe in this project, commit. Stay focused and do not allow anything else to rob your attention away from your goal.
